03 / DECISIONS IN CONTEXT

The edition determines the fit.

SAP documents 5IK integration between Subscription Billing, Convergent Invoicing in Public Edition and downstream financial processes. This does not mean every BRIM component is included or available in the same way. We validate release, localization, licensing, services and constraints, and distinguish Contract-Based Revenue Recognition from other revenue accounting products.

Before we begin.

Can we move ECC over unchanged?

The scope needs to be assessed against Public Edition. We review processes, data and custom developments to determine standard coverage, changes and integration or extension options.

Does GROW include everything needed for subscriptions?

That depends on the contracted package and scenario. The design must identify products, integration services, licenses and specific prerequisites before scope is committed.

What should we bring to a first discussion?

Priority processes, countries, current systems and key business dates. For subscriptions, examples of offers, usage, invoices and revenue treatment are also useful.
